Why yes, I do love my teeth

So for the past little bit, I've been on an un-official blogging break. Not because I hate blogging and I have so many better things to do, but I just haven't had anything to write about. A writer's block of sort. However, I'm at work, and I feel like writing. So, today you will be blessed to hear about my toothbrush.

I mentioned it in a post a few weeks back, but for Christmas, my wonderful mother bought me a sonicare toothbrush. My dad and she have had them for years, and I was always a bit envious. You see, I'm kind of obsessed with brushing my teeth. I brush them several times a day. Whenever I wake up, go to sleep, eat food, or honestly am just bored, I'll brush my teeth. It disgusts me when people will tell me they don't always brush their teeth. It blows my mind how a person could stand that. Mind you, I wasn't very conscious of my teeth growing up, as you may know if you've been reading my blog (or, know me personally) for long. I call those "the dark years". Actually, I really have never called them that. Anyways, back to the point. Love my teeth, love brushing them. I take great pride in the fact that I actually have quite perfect teeth, disregarding the fact that they aren't quite as pearly white as I would like (someday...someday). However, I've always had a less-than-amazing toothbrush. Just one of the ones you can get for a few bucks at the store. Imagine my surprise when I opened my sonicare on Christmas day. Probably my favorite gift. I hadn't even thought to ask my mom for one, but as history repeats itself, she knew what I would love (like last year, when she got me an electronic can opener because I can't ever figure out the manual ones. Don't hate).

At first, I thought the tooth brush was a little weird, but I went forward with faith that it would not let me down. After a few days, I was hooked. I will never go back to a regular tooth brush again. My mouth has never felt so clean. The other day, I woke up rather early, and, as usual, I went straight to brush my teeth. However, being the zombie I am when I first wake up, I grabbed my old toothbrush that I had sitting out for some unknown reason. I started to brush my teeth, and it was terrible! I can't even describe how much I disliked it. It was at that moment when I realized just how much I've been missing out. If you don't have a sonicare tooth brush, I definitely recommend it. Unless you have no money. But even then, save your dollars!

In other news...

Everytime I draw blood, or donate it, it takes the technician person like...10 minutes to find my veins. So when I decided to try to donate plasma for some extra cash, I wasn't overly hopeful. Well, after months of contemplation, I went over to the donation center in Orem with Forrest and we both signed up. I was just waiting for them to tell me that my veins were too deep and I wouldn't be able to donate. However, after about 1 minute or so of my flexing my arm, the guy was like "okay, you're good to go. What day do you want to donate . . ." Blah blah blah. So I guess they weren't as deep as I thought. It must be all the working out I do...bahaha. We'll see how it goes. I have a feeling that it will be extremely painful and I will never do it again, but I guess we'll see how that goes!

Katie--do not donate plasma! Do not let Forrest donate plasma! How do you know where those needles have been?! And I'm so glad you like your toothbrush so much! I knew you would!! (It's from Dad, too.)

LOL @ mom .. I wouldn't be too worried about the needles being in dangerous places .. those places are pretty clean and safe .. what I would worry about is the horribleness of it. Granted I did it about 13 times, but I hated every second of it and they messed up my arm like 2 of those times and I can not even imagine doing it again .. That's my two and a half cents :) have fun

You are so much braver than I am! I can't donate blood for my hatred of needles. It's not irrational fear, I simply had an IV needle stuck in my arm for two years. So I commend you on that.

I too love to take care of my teeth. Smiles are very important to me, and I have a problem when people don't take care of their mouths.

So, you have family in Vernal? I might know them! I've lived here my entire life.

I love brushing my teeth too! I prob brush mine more than the average person. I had an electric toothbrush once but I can't remember loving it, I need to try it out again.

PS after I read how much you made donating plasma I decided to find a place here to do it for some extra cash haha. That sounds so sick & wrong. Oh well :)

I love Brushing my Teeth!! I too brush way more then I should, or the average person does. I love the feeling of a clean mouth.

As for plasma, go for it! I always donate blood, but I dont get paid for it. :( But I still love to do it, cause I see its use everyday in my job.

AJ just told me that you can paid for donating blood at certain places. He also said that when you donate plasma if they don't warm up the blood before they put it back into your arm, it can cause cardiac arrest. One of Hillary's friends had a brain aneurysm as a result of that. So now are you convinced that risking your life for $25 is a really, really bad idea? In all seriousness, please don't do that again. Love, Mom

So I'm not here to apologize for not believing in the church, because I'm completely happy with the relationship I'm gaining with the Lord Himself. I'm not apologizing for bringing certain points up, because I think there are valid things to realize about the church instead of glazing over them, and I have the right to bring them out on my blog.

However, I do apologize for the fact that everything I said wasn't out of love. I've always appreciated your faith in what you believe in, and even though now I don't agree with it, I still do admire your steadfastness. Doesn't mean I'll convert back to Mormonism or never mention anything about the church again, because I'm not on a mission to destroy the church. But I am on a mission to enlighten people about Jesus Christ first, and let THEM decide on a church after. It shouldn't be the other way around. And that site, exmormon.org, its mission isn't to "destroy families." It's to be enlightened, with no denominational ties. If you get on there and don't do any of your research and just accept things blindly, that's YOUR fault, not the site's. But if someone, being raised Mormon, was to get on that site and realize they wanted a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ rather than a religious one, I'd be ecstatic. But that's just me.

Have a good rest of the weekend and I'm sure I'll talk to you at some point in the future. Who knows. God bless.
