Matching Monday: Kristian Brian Sims

After a three (or four? or five? who knows) hiatus of Hilary, Cortney, and mine's Matching Monday, we are now back, and better than before. Tonight as we were discussing what to right, Kristian suggested we write about him. Since none of us have any better ideas (but really, what could be better than Kristian. Actually, I could name a few things. Forget I said that), we decided this would be our topic of the week.

Kristian and I have an interesting relationship. This recent skype conversation pretty much sums it up:

[10:10:36 PM] Katie: Me + Kristian = < / 3 (broken heart)
[10:11:22 PM] Kristian Sims: Me + Katie = :@ (mean scary face that says bam)
(I don't know where the part right before this disappeared off too...I'm sure it was something along the lines of  "why do you hate me so much Kristian")
[1/3/2010 10:20:51 PM] Kristian Sims: then why do you keep saying it?
[1/3/2010 10:20:59 PM] Katie: Because I know it bugs you.
[1/3/2010 10:21:06 PM] Kristian Sims: yes, ok
[1/3/2010 10:21:11 PM] Kristian Sims: and you know what comes then?
[1/3/2010 10:21:15 PM] Kristian Sims: |-( (rolling eye face)
[1/3/2010 10:21:20 PM] Katie: I hate you
[1/3/2010 10:24:21 PM] Katie: But really I don't, in case you thought i was being serious
[1/3/2010 10:25:29 PM] Kristian Sims: *sigh*
[1/3/2010 10:25:45 PM] Katie: what?
[1/3/2010 10:25:47 PM] Katie: am i bugging you?
[1/3/2010 10:27:31 PM] Kristian Sims: yes.

I'd say we have a love-hate relationship. Mainly, he's madly in love with me (even though he won't admit it. I should start a facebook group for people like him, I'm sure there are a lot), and I hate him. It's okay though.

The first time I met Kristian....Hmmm. It was back at the beginning of the semester. He came over because he had been friends with all my roommates the previous year. I thought he was kind of weird. He sat by me on the couch. And that was about it. He left, and I forgot about him, until I got a random friend request for him. I had no idea who it was and sat there and stared at his page for a few minutes, and then decided to add him since all of my roommates were his mutual friend. Then I remembered who he was, and left him a comment telling him how awesome he was and that he should come over whenever he wanted. He didn't comment back and I was sad, and once again forgot about him.

A few weeks later, we were looking for an extra football ticket, and Rachael asked Kristian. I believe he said "Who's it for" and Rachael said "A hot boy someone is inviting" and Kristian was like "oh, is it for Katie then. She seems to be quite the flirt." I have no idea where that came from, but I just went with it. And I got the ticket.

Then he came over this other time and sat on the floor. And I thought he was weird. Because he didn't really talk. And I was having a sweet dance party

Then one day I had to text him about something. I don't remember why. And we became friends. He added me on skype. And that's where our real friendship began.

For the longest time, he was really nice to me on skype, and then in person he acted like he thought I was dumb/weird. I'm sure it was just his way of trying to hide his true feelings of love for me.

Sometimes I annoy Kristian. I tell him that I know he hates me, or I ask him why he hates me so much. I just do it because I know he hates it. He rolls his eyes at me, and then gives me condescending looks. Because he knows I hate it. Kind of dysfunctional, huh?

But really, Kristian is an awesome guy. He is a very complimentary person, and there's been a few times where he told me I looked nice and it made my day. I love talking to him; he's very easy to talk and relate too. I've had many-a late night conversations with him. The other night I was all by myself in my apartment and he came to my rescue and invited me to hang out with him. Even though we just sat on his couch, it was better than being by myself, because he's such an awesome guy. Even though he's a year and a half younger than me, I often forget it and feel like we are the same age. Kristian is one of the coolest kids I know, and I'm grateful to know him. He's funny, smart, cute, makes good fudge and bread, and cares about people. I'm glad he'll be around for Winter Semester and Spring Term, so we can be even better friends. And we can take more pictures, because we only have one together and I've used it in a very recent post. Not okay to post it again.  I LOVE YOU KRISTIAN SIMS (even if you do mumble on the phone!)
