Drum Roll Please...

When I first started blogging, I would often read blogs and the writers would mention how they got an "award". In all honesty, I thought it was kind of silly. I mean really, what could be so possibly amazing about getting an award from someone you likely don't even know in real life. It's not like you got a million dollars or even a plate of cookies from it.

Nonetheless, as I began blogging more, I kind of coveted (I know, it's against the Commandments. I have since repented) peoples' awards. Sometimes I'll read other peoples blogs and wish I could be as awesome as them and have a million followers. Maybe someday, when my life consists of more things than work, school, and boys. Or maybe when I'm a famous reporter or something and everyone starts flocking to my blog to see what an awesome person I am behind the scenes . . . I can dream right?

Well, as silly as I still think blog awards are, I couldn't help but feel a sense of elatement when my blog/real life friend  "Sam" (I won't reveal your real name, since I don't know if that's public knowledge), nominated me for award. It made me super happy, a lot more than it should have. There were two awards that he talked about in the post, and he didn't specify which one I was nominated for. I asked, and he said I could have both if I wanted.

Oh, I wanted. Anything to make me look cooler than I really am is good in my eyes.

So with this award, I'm supposed to nominate 7 other people and then write 7 interesting facts about myself.

Apparently these are the rules, so if I nominate you, do them. Or else...you might be sad or something like that.
1. Thank the person who gave you the award
2. Paste the award on your blog
3. Link the person who nominated you for the award
4. Tell 7 interesting things about yourself
5. Nominate 7 bloggers or less
6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominated

1. Thank you Sam! Even if we started off on an awkward/weird foot at that random bonfire, you're a cool cat.
2. Done.

3. Done

4. 7 Interesting Things About Myself
I can't guarentee that these are actually interesting, or you haven't heard them before. However, I do like writing random things about myself, and I've been feeling it's time for another one of these posts. Granted, this isn't 25, but 7 will suffice for now:
      1) I'm totally addicted to lipgloss, literally. My lips honestly start to hurt when I haven't been wearing some for a prolonged period of time. I've tried to stop using it as much, but really, I don't want too. I love it. Especially the kind I currently have been using, that tastes just like my Grandpa's homemade ice cream.
     2) I love to mix my cereals together. I'm pretty sure I get this from my grandma, who usually has two or three cereals in every bowl she has. There's just something about mixing two random cereals together that make it oh-so-delicious. This morning I mixed together Maple and Sugar Life and Special K. Though now I feel kind of sick.
     3) As demonstrated in this next picture, I LOVE free stuff. Whether it be free shirts on campus (which I will do just about anything for), free chick fil a,  free stuff online, or giveaways in store...If it's free, I'm there.
nast picture of me, my apologies.
     4) I've said this before, but I feel it's worth mentioning again. One way to really, really annoy me is to say "legit". I hate that word, pretty much more than any other word. My goal in life is to get everyone that I know to stop using that word. Why does it bother me so much? I have no idea. But, it drives me insane. I think it just sounds so incredibly dumb.
     5) When Cortney and I were in second grade, for some reason we missed the "girl" three-legged race, and we had to race against all the boys. At first this was kind of annoying (actually, I really don't remember if it was, I think I'm just making that up), but then we totally owned and kicked all the boys butts. We still talk about this awesome time in our life to this day.
     6) Even though I was in choir for years, and took several years of voice lessons, I have absolutely no sense of rhythm, hence why I can't play any instruments. It really kind of sucks. To be honest, I really suck at reading music as well. I learn how to sing songs by listening to others sing or play it or recordings. I learn by memorization and ear.
    7)  I have a secret dream of working for a radio station. This desire came about this summer when I listened to the radio from about 6:00 in the morning til 5:00 at night on the commute to and from work, as well as while I was at work. I never really thought about it after that until this semester when my Comms 239 teacher brought in several people from KSL to speak. They were so cool! It made me want to work for a radio station so bad. I totally should be the next Delilah. Unfortunately (or fortuntely, because I do love the program), I'm a print major and I don't know how willing a radio station would be to hire someone who didn't major in Broadcast. To be honest, I wish I had taken an intro to broadcast class this semester, so I could apply for both programs next semester, but alas, I did not, and if I were to wait to apply until next winter, that would put me a year behind, rather than just a semester. Oh well!

5. 7 Bloggers that I nominate for these awards . . .

Tasha. Seriously, she is one of the most genuine, sweet people I have ever met. Her blog emulates so much love for the Gospel, Christ, and her family. Every time I read it, I come away feeling uplifted and happy.

My sister Cindy. Although all my sisters have great blogs, hers is the only one that is public, and she posts the most often. She is the cutest mom and writes so much awesome posts, I'm always so excited when I see in my google reader that she has a new post. It also helps that almost every post has cute pictures of adorable Lyla :)

Hilary. For being a cool/ roommate/fellow blogger. And for always being so excited when I talk about boys. Her blog is so fun and uplifting.

Gus, The BYU Dude. Okay, I don't know his name, and it drives me crazy. His blog has given me a good insight to that of the Mormon mind, and he's a good friend. We talk on gchat every now and then, and I thoroughly enjoy it. Especially when we have awesome conversations in Spanish. He has given me some good advice, which I definitely appreciate it.  But his blog is fun to read, and very insightful. He's definitely one of my top 3 favorite anonymous bloggers. One of these days he'll run into me own campus and won't be able to resist letting his shroud of anonyominity down (I'll be in the library today from 2:15 to 3 ;-)

Seneca. Probably one of my favorite blog friends. We have lots in common. Like, we're both really awesome. We've taken our friendship to the facebook level, which means we are totally legitimate friends now. I love reading her blog; It always makes me laugh!

Julie, or the Boob Nazi Not only is she one of the best commenter's out there, but she also writes the best blogs. I find myself laughing out loud every time she posts. She posts a lot, and since I don't have all the time in the world to read everyone's blogs every day, she'll often have 7 new posts when I get around to it...but they are all worth the read. She's hilarious!

More than My Own Life Another blog/twitter friend. Her blogs are so cute, and she is so awesome! She also always comments on my blog, which is always nice. Definitely read her blog, you'll be glad you did!

And last but not least, who could forget Calvin and Jake from Mormon Bachelor Pad. Even though a lot of people hate them, they are definitely my favorite blog to read, and definitely deserving of this award. I would write more, but you'll just have to wait for my awesome 400 word post that I'll be writing about them soon.

Thanks my lady. I appreciate it! Please don't hate me for saying legit... I'm so addicted to lip glosses too. I have 4 in my purse, just in case I need one. Haha.

Thanks for nominating me (although I am sure it was because you felt obligated)! I still need to do this on my blog, and I totally remember when you got all that free stuff from that store...I ended up throwing all of ours away, b\c we didn't have a place for it!
