Edward Cullen has given me unrealistic expectations for men

Basically, this movie was amazing. Ever since I read the Twilight series awhile back, I have been hoping and waiting for the movie to come out. I watched so many trailers on YouTube (all of those fanmade ones get kind of addicting..), constantly read Stephanie Meyer's website, and even tried to find websites that might have gotten a hold of the movie early (No such luck). I just love this book so much, and I could not wait for the movie! Last August (I think?), Diana, Daniel, and I went and waited for the midnight release of Breaking Dawn. I was so sad for it to end...but alas, the book finally drew to a close. The only thing that made me feel not to sad about it was that the movie was coming out. And that Midnight Sun (Edward's PoV) was supposed to be released relatively soon (check out Stephanie Meyer's website for the sad news on this!). Anyways, me and a few of my roommates got tickets to the midnight showing of it the second they were put up for sale (in our defense of appearing TOO terribly nerdy, we were already at a movie when some lady came in and announced tickets were now on sale) . So we went to the midnight showing. I thought it was absolutely wonderful. A lot of people had tons of complaints, but I don't think they realized it was a movie, not having a huge budget to work with, and that you obviously can't make a movie an exact replica of a book. Not possible! I thought it was a great movie with the resources they had. I'm not gonna lie, when I heard that Robert Pattinson was going to play Edward, I wasn't thrilled. I thought that there were other characters better fit to play this perfect Edward Cullen. However, after seeing the movie I was pleasantly surprised. However, after I saw the movie the second time today with Kristalyn and my mom? I am completely smitten! I don't know what it was this time, but every time he came on screen, I couldn't help but feel so overwhelmed with how perfect he was. Yes, I realize Twilight is not real..but ask anyone that has read it...You just totally get caught up in the book and it's hard to believe it's not actually happening. The rest of the day today I couldn't stop thinking about the movie, and how I wish I could find someone like Edward..sigh, I always have my dreams right?

Anyways, here's my review of the movie:

Excellent casting. I thought they were right on with almost all of the characters. Mike Newton was exactly like the person I had in my mind. And Charlie? Perfect! He was totally the awkward "I don't know what I'm doing" dad, yet you could tell he really loved Bella. I thought that Kristen Stewart was the perfect Bella. She was so pretty, and just completely did the part wonderfully. The only characters I wasn't really pleased with were Rosalie and Victoria. They just weren't...I don't even know. What I wanted them to look like! Rosalie was supposed to be the move beautiful Cullen, but she really wasn't. Not to say she's ugly, but still. I really liked the guy that played Jacob..even though I really can't stand Jacob, he's been cast well. I might not even cringe through all of New Moon when it comes out (no promises though). Like I said, I thought Edward pulled off his part very well. And I really liked most of the Cullen Family. They are so great!

Let's see. I thought they follow the plot line of the book very well. Thank goodness for Stephanie Meyer co-directing it! I wish it had been longer though...I totally would have stayed for a 3 hour movie! Like my brother in law Brandon said, why not make it 3 hours? They made Titanic, a dumb movie, three hours. Why not this?! Oh well. I definitely thought the corniest scene EVER was when Edward first "smelled" Bella in Biology class. I mean, Edward looked like he was about to toss his lunch (heh...if he ate lunch ;-) If I recall correctly, he didn't look sick as he sat next to her, but he was clinching on to the end of the table, trying to restrain himself. I definitely chuckled at that part. I loved the music in the movie. Again, that was another thing many people complained about. I thought it fit everything perfectly. Want to know the one thing that bugged me so much in the movie though? Bella (er..Kristen's) eyebrows were totally uneven. I don't know why this bugged me so much! I couldn't get over it. haha. I loved the scene at the end with James trying to kill Bella...it was done perfectly! There were a couple of creepy/weird scenes..like when they showed Carlisle turning Edward into a vampire! I think the most heart breaking scene in the whole movie was when Bella walked out on her dad. I almost cried! Anyways, overall, I thought this was a great movie, and I can't wait for the next one to come out (even if it's all about dumb Jacob). I think I will be going to bed now...Or maybe to search for my own Edward Cullen ;-)

Whoever thought up Black Friday...

...Was really, really, dumb.

But yet, everyone, even when they have failed miserably in the past to get the item they wanted, still goes.

Why? I have no clue. But here's my Black Friday 2008 story.

So, as usual, the newspaper which comes on Thanksgiving has some of the most valuable ads of the year...the coveted After Thanksgiving deals. I'm not gonna lie, I love looking at ads on a regular basis, I think it's just fun.. but the Black Friday ad's? Oh boy, I can't hardly wait to look at them. Anyways, after waking up and eating breakfast, my mom, Kristalyn, and I began to dig through the paper. Even though we had looked online at the numerous websites which posted their ads before Thanksgiving, it just didn't compare to actually being able to see the hard copies (you know you agree). Being the poor, unemployed, college student I am, I really didn't have any money to spend on anything, but rest assured, I made sure to show my mom everything in the ad's that I wanted :-D My mom and Kristalyn, on the other hand, were very organized and wrote down all the things they might want to get.

After looking at some of the ad's, Kristalyn found what she thought would be the perfect present for David! It was a great deal...An XBOX 360 Live with Guitar Hero: Legends of Rock, for a very reasonable price. Now, at this point, we realized we would probably have to get there at 5, when the store opened, to even get a chance at getting it. Well, trying to decide if we should go early or not brought back memories of last year, when Diana and I went to Best Buy, about three hours before it opened, and sat outside in the FREEZING (it was definitely snowing) cold, in order to get a computer that was also marked down to amazing price. Long story short--we didn't get it, and both of us vowed never to go again. Well, fast forward to this year, and while Diana did not go to any early morning deals, but I felt like I would have better luck going this year.

So I go to bed about...oh say, 12AM. The night went by way too fast. At 4:30, my alarm starts ringing very loud, and I realize it is time to wake up. So I throw on my hoodie, pull on some shoes (I was so disoriented, I forgot to get socks!) and go downstairs to wait for Kristalyn, my mom, and Michael. Kristalyn and I leave first, with her sweet baby Carter fast asleep in the back of the car, and my mom follows in her car with Michael. Kristalyn dropped me off so I could go get a place in line while she parked the car. We got there at about 5 til 5, and the line was completely wrapped around the side of the building. Greattt..Luckily we only had to wait a few minutes before the madness began and we were allowed inside. This is what it looked like as soon as the clock struck 5:

So we inch our way in, and I run to the back of the store, in hopes of finding where the Xbox was. Well, I wander around for awhile, stand in a few lines, and am finally directed to the right place. I luckily was able to be fairly close to the front of the line, and I thought FOR SURE I would be able to get what I came for. Well, about an hour later, I was still standing in the same place, feeling extremely claustrophobic and lightheaded. Walmart is wayyy disorganized, and the cashiers were so slow. Finally though, the line started moving, and all of the sudden, one of the sales associates announces there are only 10ish Xbox bundle deals left. I hold my breath as she asked how many people were there for it. I let out a sigh of relief when I realized only three people in front of me raised there hands. I thought to myself, "I am SO lucky!" Well, my relief only last a few minutes, as I saw others than those three that raised their hands walk away with an Xbox AND a Nintendo Wii. Now, I guess it's not my place to say, but seriously, I'm really thinking that those people realized that the xbox's were in such short demand, that they would buy them, and sell them for more on Craiglist. I mean, why else would they all the sudden decide to buy one? I start to get worried as I see several people walk away, and then I realize I am almost to the front of the line. The Sales associate once again announces that there are only four left. She asks who was in line for them, and I see three people raise their hands in front of me once again. Then slowly, another man quickly decides to raise his hand. My jaw drops and I feel really sad. Then, I realize that one of the other people who raised their hands was a woman, who had cut to the front of the line about 20 minutes earlier. Now, at that point I didn't really care, I figured she wanted a GPS or something. However, at this point, I was so upset that she had done that, and made me miss out on the xbox I had waited in line forever for. I was not the only person who realized this. There was about six people around me who, almost at the same time, exclaimed that she had gone to the front of the line and didn't rightfully deserve to get that xbox. One woman even went up to her and confronted her, but the woman convienitenly couldn't speak English, but somehow was able to say that "her daughter had saved her spot". Now, if her daughter was a teenager, yes, this would make sense. But there are two problems to her story. One, her daughter was about two years old. If anyone knows anything about two year olds, they will not stay put in one spot, especially in a crowded store without their parents. And two, the biggest fault to her story, all of us had seen her daughter cut to the front of the line with her. The woman refused to move, and the rest of us talked about how incredibly rude and dishonest that was of her to do that. I even loudly talked about how my sister wanted to get her husband this Xbox because he was in boot camp and she wanted to get him something that he would really be able to enjoy, in hopes of someone in front of me feeling a singe of compassion, and giving theirs up (especially one of those people who obviously hadn't originally intended on buying it). This did not work. One woman next to me looked at me, and truly looked like she felt so bad, and said "I really wish you could have gotten that for your brother in law". She was nice. Anyways, I somberly stood in line for 10 more minutes, and got a GPS that my sister had also wanted. Needless to say, this was not a succesful black Friday trip! I also learned that people really should be more honest...Oh well, not much you can do about it! Walmart will not be a store I will visit again on Black Friday. It was so crowded, felt like I was in Mexico (I'm not saying that to be racist in the slightest...I swear that there was 1 white person for every 15 Hispanic people, it was crazy!), and it was so disorganized. At least I have a story to tell...I really can't get over it!

This is about how it looked!:

I hope all of you were more succesful than I was in my endeavours...well, there's next year right?

My Birthday!

As my 19th birthday was approaching, I started wondering, what is the big deal about turning 19? I mean, when you turn 16 you can drive and date (well, if you're following the Mormon rule, which I was. Though, I didn't really date even after 16..haha). 17...last year as a minor (actually, that's not very fun either). And 18? That's just an exciting age to turn! I mean, you can buy dried ice, lotto tickets, spray paint...Who could ask for more? But 19...In the LDS culture, that is a big birthday for the guys because they most likely are going on missions soon! However, for girls, it's just another birthday. I mean, it's the last year of being a teenager, but in all seriousness, it's not very fun. I have decided that odd number birthday's are just not significant. I mean, when I turned 14, it meant I could go to stake dances. (yeah the excitement of that wore off after about a year when I discovered they are not all that great!). 15, not fun. Anyways, despite the unexcitingness of the age 19, I had an excellent birthday. Granted, it was on November 2nd, so this is a litlte outdated..But I'm gonna write about it anyways!

On November 1st, Daniel and I went to Cindy and AJ's house in Salt Lake because they invited us up for the weekend. It was so nice of them to let us come up; I would have been so sad if I didn't get to celebrate my birthday with family!

Cindy made a cute birthday table for me before we got up there. It was so nice and thoughtful of her! She also had some delicious pumpkin cookies awaiting once we got there. It was so yummy!!

Soon after arriving, Cindy insisted I open a particular present! It was a gift card to Downeast Outfitters, which is definitely one of my favorite clothes stores! She wanted me to open it so we could go and pick out a cute outfit later! I love shopping for clothes, so I was all up for that!!

On Sunday, Cindy was going to be giving a lesson in Relief Society. It was her first time teaching in there. Daniel, AJ, and I were here guinea pigs. She practiced for us and her lesson was great! Daniel was secretly taping her half the time, and it sure was funny seeing her reaction! If you are friends with Daniel on facebook, check out the video. She did a wonderful job on her lesson though! I'm proud to say she is my sister. She is such a strong and spiritual person and sets such a great example.. I love you Cindy!

After Cindy was done practicing her lessons, we went to Downeast Outfitters. Daniel and AJ acted like they didn't want to go, but we know they really secretly enjoyed it (especially Daniel..he even tried on a few outfits!) I thought this picture of AJ was funny, because he totally looks so bored, surrounded by tons of clothes!

Because we made the guys go shopping with us for a little bit, after Downeast, we went over to the Grand Opening of this sporting goods store. It turned out to be quite the exciting trip. The store was giving out tons of free stuff! As you can see in the picture below, I definitely couldn't resist getting all I could! Of course, all of that stuff is in my closet, completely unused and unopened, but hey, it was free! We were at that store FOREVER, because there was a drawing for some backpack thing, and we wanted to see if any of us won. Well, lo and behold, Daniel did! It's not like he put his name in more than once or anything...

For my pre-birthday dinner, AJ and Cindy took me and Daniel out. It took forever to decide where to go, because they insisted that I pick. Now, I am probably the most indecisive person ever. I take forever to decide on making a purchase (I'll read reviews of things online for weeks before buying certain things), and I can't make a decision on what movie to watch, what to do, or where to eat if my life depended on it. About six months ago I was at Target deciding which set of curlers I should buy. Now, this would be a seemingly unimportant decision that should only take a few minutes, but I sat on the floor of Target for at least 30 minutes, battling with myself on which set would be best. Luckily, my sister Diana happened to walk by and I had her pick. haha. Anyways, this night, AJ finally recommended Tepankyaki, which is a Japanese Grill. It was SO good! Probably the best food ever! You get this really delicious salad, onion soup, and then you can pick from several different dishes. I got chicken and noodles, with vegetables and it was so delicious. I definitely recommend this place :)

After Dinner, we went home and tried to decide what to do. Finally, we settled on getting a movie from blockbuster, and getting some treats from Smiths. We each got a pint of ice cream (Chocolate Raspberry Moose Tracks) and rented The Brother's Grimm. Of course, I fell asleep about 5 minutes into it (what else is new...I did try very hard to stay awake though!). After the movie was over, I woke up, and went to sleep on the wonderful guest bed Cindy and AJ have! Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!

Here I am, ready bright and early for Church, and for my birthday! I can't believe I'm 19, crazy eh? I'm wearing the outfit I bought the previous day..I like it! Church was early, 9:00, so we went to that soon after I was done getting ready. Their ward was very interesting to say the least...heh.

Here we are after Church!

After we got home from Church, Cindy suggested I open my presents. What a great idea...I love presents! It was fun seeing lots of surprises! I got a lot of nice presents and cards from my family and it was so thoughtful!

For Dinner, we went to AJ's parents house. They are always so nice to let me and Daniel come over for Sunday Dinner whenever we are in Salt Lake! They made Chicken Enchiladas, which is one of my favorite meals, and then we had cake. Cindy made a delicious German Chocolate Cake, complete with homemade frosting. It was very yummy!!

Overall, I had a really great birthday! It was so fun to spend it with Cindy, AJ, and Daniel in Salt Lake, and it meant a lot that they tried to make it so special. This was my first birthday away from home, which was sad, but they made it so much fun! When I got back to Provo, my roommates had put my name up on the Birthday Wall (5 of the 6 girls in my apartment had a birthday within the first three months of school, so we just kept the Happy Birthday up, and changed the name when the time called for it..hehe). Christie and Lindsay gave me a lovely present of a chocolate penguin and Jenga a few days later. What sweet people they are!

Thanks to everyone who made my birthday awesome! I'll be sending out thankyou cards soon (yes, they are kind of late, but I have the excuse of not having any stamps and not knowing where to get any on campus!)

Room up for Rent!

Today as I was changing into my gym clothes, a sign on the wall caught my eye. In big, bold print, it said "Housing Contract For Sale!" I always love to read random things (posters, signs, the backs of shampoo/lotion, food labels...Yes, I am quite cool, I realize that), and this situation was no different. I proceeded to read all the details of this "amazing" place that was up for sale. Apparently the girl was leaving on her mission and needs to sell her contract asap. Well, one of her bullets about why this was the ideal place to live, she wrote "Amazing Roommates". Next to this, however, there was something added in pen. I am willing to bet the girl didn't write it in. It said, "All roommates are amazing when it comes to selling a contract..." At this point, I couldn't help but laugh to myself. Although I have only been at college for a mere two and half months, I definitely agree with this. I mean, even when I was looking online at the pictures BYU housing posted of Heritage Halls before I got here, I thought I would be living in a real cute (but old) apartment because of how happy and cheery the pictures were. Imagine my surprise when I walked into my "apartment" and felt as if I was checking myself into prison. Granted, I love it here. But it's not what BYU made it look like. Anyways, as I was reading more of the flyer, I started wondering how much of an exagerration was. So, since I am bored and have nothing else to do, I decided to post what this girl, as well as all other people selling housing contracts, mean when they describe their apartment.

CLOSE TO CAMPUS! (Well, it's closer than an apartment in Salt Lake City would be)
AMAZING AND SWEET AND TOTALLY FUN ROOMMATES!
(Besides fighting over the bathroom, eating each others food without permission, and stealing each others boyfriends, they are great! But seriously, would anyone pick this room if I told them that?)
SHARED ROOMS--HUMONGOUS! (If you've always dreamed of living in a walk in closet, here's your chance!)
HOTTEST BOYS/GIRLS YOU'LL EVER SEE (All of the cute guys/girls are engaged to the other attractive ones in the ward, but at least during Sunday School you can sit there and hope they break of their engagement.)
GREAT WARD! (Everyone is either 30 years old or 18 and the ward activities consist of rootbeer floats and watching Saturday's Warrior. Once a year. FHE groups diminish a week after the semester starts)
FAST AND FREE HIGHSPEED INTERNET (With every other tenant in the apartment complex using the same connection, you'll be lucky to check your facebook...er blackboard.. once a day, if that.)
POOL AND HOTTUB IS TO DIE FOR! (The pool is always freezing and gets cleaned once at the beginning of the semester. Who knows what kind of diseases are floating around in there!)
CHEAP AND AFFORDABLE (300 dollars a month is a lot cheaper than living in New York.)

Ha ha, so granted, I definitely exaggerated here. A lot. As many of you that are (or have) attending BYU can testify of what a fun atmosphere this school has, and that the wards are way fun. Hey, most of the housing is actually not too bad. But I can't help but laugh at all those people selling their contracts who stretch the truth a tiny bit :)

Return to Littleton

Quick shoutout to my roomie Christie. She inspired me to not do my homework and finish writing this blog. Props to ya! It's a good thing she did though..this post is way outdated!

A few weekends ago I got to go HOME! Seriously, I was so excited. Daniel wanted to go home to visit his friend, so I tagged along because, I miss my family lots!!! We left on Friday about 9AM (yes...I skipped classes! haha)

The drive is always kind of boring, but it went by pretty fast! I mentioned to Daniel that several people have told me that we look alike, and neither of us could see it, so we took a picture. Pretty sure the only thing we share is being incredibly photogenic, which is plainly demonstrated in this next picture

So the car we drive, a 1997 Toyota Corolla...Well, it gets great gas mileage in the mountains, and is pretty sturdy, but boy it has NO power. Actually, I lied. For most of the trip, we could go at a pretty decent speed. But once we hit vail pass? Oh man...I thought we might get hit by a semi truck. Scariest moment of my life. Okay, maybe not my life, but at least my week!
This is how fast we could go (it usually dipped down lower though)

We arrived in Littleton around 4:30. My dad was heading out on a camp out with the boy scouts right then, so we stopped by the Church to see if he was still there..and he was! It was nice to say hi to him really quick :) After that we went home! Brandon was there, which was fun to see him! My mom made these really good brownies, and I hate to admit that I ate way too many over the weekend. They were so good though! I'll definitely be getting that recipe :-)

That Friday was a very exciting day besides us coming home because...High School Music 3 came out!!!! I actually saw it at the midnight showing with some people, but Diana invited us to go with her and her family...And who would pass up an opportunity to see Hottie Zac Efron again?! Well, by the time we headed to the movies, I had not yet seen my nieces or nephews. Diana and I decided that I should surprise Alexis and Tori about coming home! So Diana and Brandon thought up a plan where Brandon would come in one side of the theatre and distract the girls with popcorn and me and Daniel would come in the other side and surprise them. Great idea, right? Heh, well, I go up behind Tori and I am like "Can I sit here?" She looks back at me with a look of complete confusion and is like "My mommy is sitting here..." She didn't recognize me for some reason! Alexis then saw me at that point and was like "KATIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tori then realized that it wasn't some creeper trying to sit by her!
We were at the movie like an hour early (good thing, that theater filled up FAST!) So there was plenty of time for pictures! Tori is so cute, she loves taking pictures just as much as I do (which, let me tell you, is quite a bit, if it hasn't become obvious yet). Everytime I take a picture of us, she either goes "oh that is so cute" or is like "I really don't like that, let's take another". She is so cute and funny, I totally miss all the cute and clever things she says!

While Tori loves to take smiling pictures with me, Lexi more enjoys the silly pictures. It usually takes several tries before I can get her to actually smile. It's fun though, I have many funny pictures of us! During the movie though, Alexis just about made me cry..don't worry, not for something bad ;-) Every five minutes or so she would put her head on my shoulder and be like "Katie, I love you so much". Talk about heart melt! At one point she said "Everytime I go to your house I get so excited because I think I'm going to see you, but when I get there I realize you aren't going to be there. I miss you so much".

High School Musical was even better the second time around. Seriously, loved it! The music was great, the story was great. I'm not gonna lie, I cried at one point. I'm definitely a really big sap. I was glad to hear Diana got teary eyed as well :-D My favorite character in the movie is Ryan...He makes me laugh!

After the movie...we went home. And really, I can't remember what we did. I probably ate some of my mom's delicious brownies! I actually went to be kind of early that night..like 11ish! It's basically a record for me. When I went to my room, I was taken back by how low to the ground my bed was compared to my bed at BYU. CRAZY! What also surprised me was just how incredibly comfortable my bed at home is. Before I came to BYU, I thought it was the worst mattress ever and I hated it, but that first night home I slept so good, it was so soft and comfortable!! haha..Shows how crappy my BYU bed is :-D

Saturday..hmmm..well, I slept in a little bit. Which was nice. Then I got up and went to the gym with Daniel. I don't have a gym membership, obviously, since I use BYU's fitness facilities, so I searched online for a free 24 hour fitness pass, which is where Daniel has his membership at. Alas, I found one! It wasn't even 10 minutes after I printed it off that I received a phone call from 24 hour asking me when I was going to come in and redeem my pass. They sure don't waste any time! Anyways, we went there for about 40 minutes, which was fun. Then Daniel and I went to Deseret Book because he needed to buy some things. Seriously, favorite store ever! I'm such a nerd, but I totally could spend all day in that place :) Then..we went home. Kristalyn and Diana came over with their families, which was way fun! After visiting for awhile, the guys went somewhere for the lunch, while Kristalyn, Diana, and I went shopping...at Goodwill! That might sound a little silly, but seriously, they got some good stuff there. And they were having a 50% off sale. I got two cute sweaters, and had lots of fun looking all the stuff they had there. My sisters dropped me of at home and I just relaxed for awhile, until my mom asked if I would like to go to Target with her to get some stuff for dinner that night! Couldn't pass up an opportunity like that because I hadn't been in a Target in like 2 months, so I went. That was exciting. I love Target. Almost as much as I love Deseret Book. I noticed the Photography studio there was hiring. My mom thought it would be funny if I went over and was like "Hey, I'm here, You can give me my job back!" (that's probably only funny to those who know about that brief stunt I had there during the Holiday season last year!). Anyways, bought some stuff there. Went home. And we began preparations for..The Barker Annual Halloween Dinner! I was so excited to hear that my family was having it a week early this year, so I wasn 't going to have to miss it this year!

Alexis had asked my mom if we could have some games at the party, and of course we can never say no to her, so I thought up a couple of fun games. Before they got there, I made a few games (I'll write about them later on in this post), and seriously, I had way too much fun making them!

My brother Michael wanted to make some creepy decorations for the table, and boy, he sure did! This is me being grossed out (or something, I'm not really sure what my face entails) about his "eyeball in a glass" concoction. Yuck!

This is a weird picture. I don't know why I'm posting it. Maybe cuz it's the only one I got with my mother. haha. As you can tell, I get my mad dancing skills from my madre.

This picture has kind of a funny story that goes with it. Levi went inside and shut the door. Here's what went down afterwars:
Me: *Ring the door bell* Trick or Treat!
Levi: Sorry, we have no candy. Bye
(shuts door)
haha. it was funny to me! Guess you had to be there...

My little brother got a turtle a long time ago, and my little nephews love it! Tonight they were particularly fascinated with something other than the turtle..there was a cricket in there! They had so much fun just looking into the cage and giggling. They are all boy all right! Mason was so cute, he came over while I was eating dinner and was like "Aunt Katie! Turtle!" grabbed my hand, and brought me to the cage.

Annual Barker Family Halloween Feast! Seriously, I look forward to this meal every year. We had a few additional items added to the menu this year... Corkscrew salad and Mummy Noses (aka, pasta salad and Bacon Wrapped sausages). Everything was a hit, especially my mom's famous chicken wings and breadsticks (breadsticks were provided by Diana!)

Carter is so incredibly cute! He smiles so much and is just a total joy! He got so big since the last time I saw him (yes, two months makes a big difference!) Kristalyn said he liked when a ball was rolled to him, and he'd catch it, so that's what he was doing in one of these pictures. He's so cute!!!!

Like I mentioned earlier (at least I think I did), I made a fun little treasure hunt for the kids. "Jack-o-skeleton" stole all the candy and left a note telling them they could only get it back if they followed all the clues! The kids all had a really fun time trying to figure out all the clues so they could win back all the candy! They were always so excited when they found the hiding place of another clue! It was fun to watch them!

Some of the other activities we had were "pin the nose on the pumpkin" and the classic "put your hands into a bowl and guess what the gooey icky object is" game. Tori and mason refused to wear the blind fold, so needless to say, they got pretty close to the exact place the nose should be on the pumpkin :-D The other game was fun to watch as well. Especially when David put his whole entire hand into the yogurt, not realizing it was something that would get his hand all sticky and messy. Hehe. We also had a dance competition. To spare the embarassment of my parents, I will not post of the videos, but if you'd like to see them, let me know--I'll hook ya up. haha.

Overall, it was a really fun night (I'll post a bunch of these pictures at the end of this blog!). It was really great to just sit around and visit everyone, and it was definitely realy hard to leave them all again! At leaest I'll see them all again very soon at Thanksgiving :-D 13 days!

The next day I went to sacrament meeting of Church. It was pretty good. I decided I prefer sacrament meeting in family wards opposed to the student wards at BYU. The student wards are wayy to quiet. I mean, I know we are supposed to be reverent during Sacrament meeting, but like seriously, it's way too quiet. I feel like I have to hold back a cough or a sneeze, or even a shuffle of the feet or I'll get in trouble! Ha ha. It was nice to be back in the good ol' Clement Park Ward though!

After Church, I went back home and me and Daniel prepared to go home. We decided to wait until eleven cuz we were really tired...So then we left. We stopped at Glenwood Spring, because we were both EXHAUSTED. Like, neither of us could keep our eyes open. We slept for an hour in a Qdoba parking lot. Seriously, if we hadn't done that, we would probably have driven off a cliff, and I would not be here writing this blog.

Daniel is really cool. Especially when he wears my awesome sun glasses (that I forgot I even owned haha)

About 2 hours outside of Provo, this is the only radio station we could get. Supposedly it was country music. And I guess it was. BUT it was just that old gross hick stuff that gives country a bad name. Me and Daniel were slowly dying as the music played on. The cd player in the car is really weird, and the ONLY CD it plays is a Chris Daughtry one. Weird, I know. And as much as I love Daughtry, we listened to the CD oh...a 100 times over the course of the trip? So our choices were definitely limited! Ha ha. We got back home around 8ish. Woo Hoo. But yeah, it was such a fun trip and I'm so glad I got to go home! I can't wait for Thanksgiving.. And now for just a bunch of pictures from the trip!
