. So last night at New Beginnings for Young Women's, Bishop Smith gave a really good talk at the end. He ended by telling us about this song that was made out of a prayer President Hinckley offered, I believe in 2000, for the YouthIf i remember what the Bishop said, it was recorded the day before President Hinckley passed away..It's a really good song and you can download it for free at Ashley Harris' Website (the girl that sang it). Check it out :) its really beautiful!

Mitt Rally Colorado

>

Last Friday, My mom, little brother, and I went to the Mitt Rally at Freeway Ford. Not only did I get to get out of my last two classes of the day, but got to be squished inside of a car dealership (I'm sure there was a ton of firecode violations that day). I think they should have planned a little bit better, I mean, why did they only think 150 people would show up (close to 2000 actually did). Although we didn't get there in time to get the free bumperstick or foam mitt, it was really great to hear him. I got pretty close to the front. At two different times, I almost got toshake his hand (if rude people hadn't shoved in front of me..). He made some good points and I really hope he can pull of a win and become the nominee for the republicans. I took some videos, which my brother Daniel put on his blog, but here's some of the pictures I took.

Okay, this isn't the best picutre ever, but it shows how close I was to him at one point!

I think he was quite flattered by the huge crowd that showed up

Saying something amazing,I'm sure

Once again, so close to meeting him

Cooking!

So in the past few months I have realized how much I love to cook (much to my mom's delight). I always watch the food network and search online for random new recipes. My friend Cortney kept mentioning how she needs to learn how to cook, so last week we decided to make a meal for my family!

Here's me taking something out of the oven (actually..I was just posing, hence me having no oven mitt)

Cortney smelling the garlic knots (one of my favorite recipes!)

We didn't even actually use those kitchen utensils, lol

The picture at the beginning of this is what we made. We made breadcrumb chicken, garlic knots, and apple crisp. Very delicious...even though some members of the family wouldn't try it.

If anyone has a good recipe let me know!

The beginning of an obsession

Well, after reading my sisters and relatives (and actually, a lot of random blogs of people I don't even know), and having my sister Cindy
tell me, I decided to join the blogger world. I'm not gonna promise any amazing insights (even though i am quite amazing..just kidding!), but hopefully someone will find it interesting. I'll post a post today..or tomorrow..or eventually. Enjoy!

Oh..and don't forgot to vote tomorrow in Super Tuesday if your states participating. Go Romney!!!

About Me

So who am I? Well, my name is Katie. I am 20 years old and I attend BYU in Provo, Utah. I'm just an average, every day Mormon girl trying to find my way through life. After switching about 5 times, I finally settled on majoring in Print Journalism and minoring in Editing. I love to write, and as you will soon find out, I love to blog. Writing is my way of de-stressing, it's really kind of theurapeutic. I started this blog a few years ago when my sisters started their's, and they thought I needed one as well. I never thought I'd be as into it as I am, but I love it. Comments are my favorite, so even if you don't really know me, go ahead and comment...I'll return the favor. I tend to be kind of sarcastic, and my mom says I seem a little bit too full of my self, but hopefully that doesn't offend too many people. This blog is mainly for myself, and for my family to see what I'm up too, but if what I say and my life is entertaining to others, then wonderful!

I'm not anonymous at all. I use real names, real places, everything. Is it smart? Probably not. I put too much information on here sometimes, but oh well. I love incorporating pictures into my blogs, and that just wouldn't be possible if I was anonymous!

The title of my first blog post "The Beginning of an Obsession" rings true. I blog almost every day.

So more about me. Like I said, I'm from Littleton, Colorado, born and raised. I went to Columbine High School and I graduated in 2008. I have the best family in the world, and every day I find more reason to be grateful for that. I'm kind of weird, random, and immature at times, but you'll learn to love it. Even though I tease a lot, I really do care about people. I love exercising, cooking, listening to music, and just hanging out. I'm not a fan of most TV or movies, but I'm a sucker for 24.  I tell things how they are, and sometimes struggle with having a filter between my thoughts and what comes out of my mind. I'm happy. Really happy.

Well, that's about all. I'm sure you'll find out more than you really ever wanted to know if you keep reading. Welcome to my life, unedited.
