I won't be majoring in Bracketology anytime soon

Today, I am in a sufficiently better and more blog-writing mood. Why, you may ask? That's a secret. But not really. But, since no one commented on my last blog, I decided I needed to redeem myself a write something slightly more substantial.

Now, if you know me, I'm not a big sports person. I mean, I enjoy going to games and pretending like I know what's going on. I have a short attention span and sometimes forget to watch the game. I think my favorite part about sports is having parties and making food for everyone to enjoy.

However, Forrest loves sports. He's really into basketball, so when I told him I had never filled out a bracket for March Madness, he informed me that I would this year. I didn't think he was serious, but on the Sunday before the Brackets closed, he brought over a bracket for me to fill out. So, I did.

By nature, I am a competitive person when it comes to things like this. So for about a day, I researched lots of teams, their chances of winning, and how to fill out a bracket. I thought I made some pretty educated guesses. Well, if you click on the picture below, you will find that I pretty much failed at everything bracketology. However, it was fun to do. And I have watched (and actually enjoyed) more basketball games over the past few week than I think I have watched in my whole entire life. I have to admit, they are rather exciting. I even sat in the Communications building instead of going home right after my News Writing class like I normally do so I could finish watching the BYU game (which, was really exciting). I watched a few games with Forrest, and he, being the good sport he is, had to explain most of what was going on. I think he explained free throws about four times, and didn't act like I was a complete moron when I pointed at Jimmer Fredette about 20 times and asked who he was. However, I may venture to say I actually like basketball now.

Kind of funny story concerning basketball though. A few weeks ago, I went to Forrest's intraumural basketball game. I tried really had to pay attention. After it was over, he said something, and I was like, oh did you win? He looked at me like I was crazy, and asked if I hadn't looked at the scoreboard at all. I thought about it. No, no I hadn't. Well, except to see how much longer was left in the game. My excuse was that I was wanting to watch him so intently so I could compliment him on any excellent moves he made (which I was). I'm not sure if he bought it.

So yes, I am becoming more adept to sports and actually enjoying them. Maybe next year I'll pay attention during the football games. No promises though.

HAHA i just read your "if you are reading this, you obviously know how to write. Leave a comment" thing. HAHAHA

Anyway, I didn't fill out a bracket because pretty sure I'd fail. Luckily I like sports because Chase is OBSESSED. Esp. football. It's a guy thing. But football is more interesting than basketball I think...def watch this fall-it's more fun with a boy too :)

I agree with Mauri. Football is wayyy more interesting.
But then, I might feel differently if the guy I liked played basketball....
