Fail

I definitely fail at updating my blog lately. For some reason, I just haven't had the drive to do so. If you could see my draft folder on here, you'd see about 10 blogs that I started writing and never finished. There's even a few finished blogs that I just didn't know if they were interesting enough. But, I don't want anyone to think I died or anything (since I'm sure everyone is regularly checking my blog for updates), so I'll just do a quick update on what's going on. Hopefully I'll get my mojo (Princeton dictionary defines that as "magic power". I think that fits) back and write some better blogs . . . But for now, this will have to suffice!

Today I took the Benchmark exam to get into the Print Journalism program here at BYU. Basically, I went into a random classroom in the Brimhall building, we were given a few instructions and background on the issue we were writing about, and then we watched some videos where we were expected to take scrupulous notes on everything that was said. We were pretty much sworn to secrecy as to what we had to write about, but it was pretty lame exciting. I finished before everyone else. Maybe I should have taken more time, but I wrote it super fast and I read through it about 10 times before I turned it in. This has always been the case in my News Writing class, and guess who almost always get full credit on all the writing assignments? That would be me. So I will find out sometime in the near future what my score was. Send well-wishes my way!

On a kind of related, but not really at all, note, I have yet to take a test in the testing center this semester. How did I get so lucky? I really don't know. But I'm definitely counting my blessings. It's pretty much fact that I'm a terrible test taker. I second guess myself a lot and I'm known for changing answers several times, when I had the right answer to begin with. Last semester, in my Interior Design class, I went through my test afterwards, and I had changed 15 questions from the right answer to the wrong one. Fail. But yeah. I am doing better this semester than I have any other semester at good ol' BYU, so that's great. It mainly has to do with the fact that I'm taking classes that I knew I'd do well in, and avoided any GE's (I just needed a break from them . . . haha). But I figured it would be the boost I needed to get back into gear. I'll be taking boring GE's next Fall, but hopefully it will be better than before. Because, my GPA has much to improved on.

I feel like I've been busy and should have more to write about, but nothing is coming to mind. I went to a Japanese Internment Camp in Topaz on Saturday with Hilary and Forrest. That was pretty special and we took some epic pictures. Check out my facebook if you want to see the pictures. Um. Pretty much just can't wait to be done with school. I'm needing to find another job, as the one I'm at right now decided that they don't have enough hours for anyone to work full time. So, looks like I'll need to find another part time job. Or else I will likely be very bored this summer. Anyways, with that, I'm done. Sorry this was so boring. Maybe I'll post about my new-found like (not love) for basketball. I'm sure that would be exciting.

yay you posted haha! I should have checked my blogs before I posted that on your FB. I also suck at taking test and the testing center there gives me even worse anxiety than taking a test in a classroom. I heard once its proven that people test better when they test in the same enviornment they learn in. I hope you find a new job soon! And good luck-can't wait to hear the results of that test!
