This just made my day!

So today when I came into work, I checked my work email, looking for the typical email from one of my supervisors, or from one of the adjusters asking me to check on a claim. However, when I logged in, I was surprised to see an email from a customer I had assisted a few weeks ago. It was such a great start to my day, no matter how simple it was:

"Katie, I've kept your e-mail on list for this day. Cancellation is complete and check is here. Thank you very much for your kind consideraton. I'm sure it made this go smoothly. Keep up the good work as few do it today."

I'll admit, sometimes I get kind of annoyed with the people I'm talking to here at work (like this guy last week who kept asking me about "hypothetical" situations that could possibly occur, not to him, but other people...), but generally, I really try and be nice, and even when I know the customer is wrong, try and sympahtize when they are explaining their problem, and it just makes my day a lot less stressful when someone says "you really helped me out, thank you so much!". It just makes a person feel good to know that someone appreciates the seemingly menial work. I guess that saying Thank you really does make a big difference, no matter the situation. Anyways, I thought it was nice of that man to email me...What a nice start to my week (even if I'm only working one day...haha)

Hi, My name is Katie

(No, this is not me)

And I'm addicted to the snooze button.
Really. I can't think of one time EVER that I haven't pressed the snooze button on my alarm.
At least twice.
Which makes me wonder, now, why don't I just set my alarm for the exact time I need to get up, therefore getting between 10-30 minutes of extra sleep?
Um. I don't really know.
I just get some sort of satisfaction in being like "ha! I can sleep longer"
It's kind of like waking up in the middle of the night, and realizing you have 3 more hours of sleep. I love that. Am I weird for that?
Really though, the snooze button is not so good sometimes.
Especially because even after I stop pressing it, I will still just lay in bed for about five minutes more.
Especially if it's early. Like six.
I leave for work at 625. I set my alarm for 5:30. And I wake up at 6:10 usually But still, I manage to do my hair, put on makeup, and eat breakfast in those 15 minutes.
I have become quite the expert at getting ready really fast since early morning seminary. Honestly, even when I have time to get ready in the morning, it doesn't take me more than 20 minutes. Which makes me wonder how some girls take hours to get ready.
Maybe I'm just weird.
Anyways, besides the point.
I love the snooze button!
Anyone else?

Never say Never

When I was in middle school, I used to say I'd never wear makeup.

Oh, but as you can tell in this beautiful picture. I do now. (and no, I really don't wear my make up and hair like that)

Also in middle school, I said I would never buy a purse. I thought they were dumb and not useful.

Fast Forward to now. I have tons of purses. I get giddy over the wonderful deals that Target always seems to have. My friends tease me by saying my purses pretty much have my life and everything you could possibly need in them. I look back and wonder, why was I saw biast against purses? I think I was a bit crazy.

Once again, until I was in high school, I didn't really care about how I looked (I'd say my most awkward stage was the middle school-9th grade years. I hide my school pictures from then because I'm so appalled. Some people may say I'm still in my awkward stage. I beg to differ). I think the only thing I owned was a brush and nerdy headbands. Now, I think I could open my own salon with all the stuff I own. Straightner, curling iron, crimper, hair dryer...countless products from garnier fructis. Oh how times change (And I admit...sometimes I still just brush my hair in the morning and call it good. But I'm not as weird as I was in middle school!).

I really didn't care about clothes. And while I still occasionally (ok..this summer more often than at other times), gems like this:

I actually enjoy buying cute clothes. Even though I do wear my sweats and pajama pants more than my mother would like (I promise, it's just because I really want to be on what not to wear). I do like cute clothes, and I have a closet full of them. I never thought I'd say I like shopping..Because I didn't. But I so do now.

I always said I would never buy anything produced by Apple. Really. I just am pretty prejudiced against them. But alas, I finally caved and bought an iPhone. Great decision, for the most part. I will never get a mac computer though. Sorry super awesome friends that own them!

Anyways, point of this blog? There was one thing I said I would really never do. Wear high heels. I think (er..thought), they were dumb and made me look way too tall. I'm not really short (unless you compare me to most of my friends, who are pretty much giantresses, in a good way, don't worry), so I never felt the need to make myself taller. However, the other day I was going through my closet and I discovered a pair of heels. And I was like "heck, they go with my dress, I'll wear them!" And lo and behold. I loved them. And have been obsessed ever since. Granted, I only have about 3 pairs of heels, but oh, that'll change. I still love my flats. PRetty much, I just really like shoes. But Finally, I have caved and decided that heels are cute..Hopefully next time I find a new like, it won't be one that will end up costing me money..Sigh..

(Yes, I did take a picture of my foot. I think pictures of feet are nasty. But I felt the need to have a visual for this blog. Forgive me. And these are a lot cuter in person.)

Moral of the story? If you say you aren't going to do something, you probably will. Well, if you're me at least. Most people are probably more firm in their decisions than me. hehe.

United Kingdom, Raise your hand

So typically I don't like to call out people creeping on my blog, but as I'm looking at my site monitor, I have noticed a signficant amount of hits from, what appears, the same person from the United Kingdom. So I'm wondering, who are you? Can't say that I know anyone who lives there.

Besides that. I have nothing else exciting to say. My life is really quite boring. I get up. Go to work. Come home. Sleep.

I won 25$ again. yay!
