Prom!

So last Saturday was prom! Paxton was so nice and came all the way out here to take me! Isn't that sweet?

We went in a group with some of my good friends from church/school and we had a lot of fun.

My awesome teacher, Mr. Tonelli, drove us (before you think I'm really weird for having a teacher drive us, just know that he is the coolest teacher in the school and drives a group of kids each year. Trust me..it was just as good as a limo ride!).

We took pictures at my house, and then went to Johnny Carino's for dinner. It was SO good. I got this really great chicken alfredo type thing. It's a nice and cozy italian restaurant and we had a great waiter. The desserts were so good!!

After dinner, Mr. Tonelli drove us downtown. Unfortunately, his friend Freddy the crack dealer wasn't working, so we didn't get to meet him like the people he drives usually does..he he. But he took us to a random building by coors field. We weren't quite sure why he took us to it, cuz it was kinda scary, but it ended up being the building his parents have a loft in! We went up on top of the roof and had cookies and milk, and then we met his really nice neiece. Honestly, it was probably the best part of the night. I forgot my camera in th car, but im gonna try and get some of the pictures Tonelli took :)

AFter this, we went to Invesco field for the dance. Not the best dance if you ask me, especially not for the cost you have to pay for tickets (75 dollars!!). All they played was rap music, and had one slow song..ONE! And it was a rap song. lol.

Afterwards we went to after prom..it was pretty fun! I won a bunch of random little prizes (like a clcok..haha) as well as the Daughtry CD (I was very excited about this) I forgot my camera at home though!!! It was fun though. There were lots of midway games (which i rocked at..especialy knocking over the milk bottles!), food, and exciting activites! like human fooseball and giant twister. My mom worked all night at it too. What a sport!!

And the next morning..Boy was I tired. AFter sacrament meeting we came home. and me and paxton made dessert for the night! Can you tell I look tired??

OVerall..it was a great night :)

American Idol Top 6-Andrew Lloyd Weber Music

So last night I wasn't able to watch American Idol live because I was at a Rockies game (who definitely blew it in the last inning), so me and Daniel watched all the performances on youtube this morning. I'm bummed I didn't get to see it last night though, because I actually know all the songs sang! Here are my rankings for the night!

1. David Archuleta did very well with "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera. He did a really cool arrangement of it and definitely made it his own. Like Randy said, if you can sing, you can sing anything, and David has proved that time and time again. If he doesn't win, this competition is defintely rigged. lol. I think he'll be just as succesful as Daughtry and Carrie Underwood. I can't wait to see what he'll sing next week!

2. Syesha Mercado. When she first started the competition I wasn't the biggest fan, but I have definitely grown to really love her voice. Every week she seems to improve so much, and has amazing stage presence. Tonight she sang "One Rock n Roll too many", which i am really not too familar with. It was a nice change from the less upbeat ballady songs that most chose tonight (I'm not complaining about that though, those are my favorite!), and she really pulled it off. She has a lot of talent and I think she'll go pretty far after American Idol. And just a side note..I like what she did with her hair tonight. Very classy.

3. David Cook. Now, I'm really not the hugest fan of David, mainly because I think he looks like someone who has never showered and is drunk. ha ha. I don't really like his song choice for the most part, but he did sing "Music of the Night" pretty good tonight. It wasn't anything new though, and he sounded like hwas trying to sing it like the original. He kind of sounded like he was trying to sing British at the beginning of his performance and it different points in the song. I'll give him kudos though, it DID sound good, and he hit all those notes great. At least he showed that he could sing a ballad and do it well!! I hope he can find a happy medium between his really rocky songs and a ballad!!

4. Carly Smithson. Okay, I really really don't like her. I don't know what it is, but she just bugs me. I was pleased to see she was wearing an outfit that covered up her tatoos (maybe her husband could do the same, but then again, he would have to be full covered to get rid of all of them! haha). She sang "Jesus Christ Superstar", and I really didn't like the song choice, but she sang it well. Carly is real talented and will probably be pretty succesful, but she doesn't top my list of those I'm gonna wanna buy a CD from. I'm thinking she will be in the bottom three tonight.

5. Brooke White. As much as I just absolutely adore Brooke, she seems to be slipping pretty fast. She started this competition, in my opinon, with a lot of potential to win, but she seems to get worse, not better, as the weeks go on. Last night she sang "You Must Love Me" from the movie Evita. She messed up at the beginning and restarted, and acted rather professional about it. Her song didn't wow me though. Her songs just continually sound the same each week and doesn't have anything new to show. She does have a very nice voice though. As sad as it makes me, I think her time on Idol is coming to an end. She'll be a great Primary Chorister someday!!

6. Jason Castro. Alright, I think I'll have to agree with Randy when he said that he can sing Jack Johnson on a guitar, but not this type of music. He sang "Memory" from cats. It was just kind of a weird performance. He was really breathy and didn't show much off. He can sing a certain type of song, and this was not one of them.

SO here are my predictions

Top 3: David ARchuleta, David Cook, Syesha Mercado
Bottom 3: Carly Smithson, Jason Castro, and Brooke White

Carly will be sent back to safety first, and then Brooke White will be sent home.

OH and the concert dates have been set. I'm pretty sad to see that it wont be in Denver :(

I hate Dental Work

About three years ago I had to get a root canal, which in itself was pretty horrible, but after it was done I was glad because Ithat would be the end of all the trouble. Boy was I wrong. About a month ago, i noticed the gum by that root canal tooth was getting swollen. I tried to show my mom, but she didn't really think it was. Anyways, after about a month, we got around to going into the dentist. It wasn't my regular dentist, to my disappointment (because this dentist was a weirdo). He told me I had to go see a root canal specialist to see if my tooth was savable. So i went to this "endodentist" (who, for the record, was very cute), and to my despise, he said that my tooth was completely infected, therefore meaning my root canal had failed, and i would have to get it removed. When we left the office, I started crying because who wants to get a tooth removed?! Sure..it was in the back of my mouth and no one would even be able to tell unless i opened my mouth really wide and someone looked into it, but its just the thought. Anyways, make a long story short..about two weeks later (yesterday!) I went to the dentist for the horrible procedure. It turned out not being too bad, because fortunately my regular dentist was able to do it, and he numbed me really well (i was numb for like 4 hours afterwards). It went really fast, and then I went home. I think the worst part of this whole ordeal was taking the Vicodin. I don't think I have ever felt sicker in my life. Fortunately, I only had to take two doses of it. Oh, and the picture i posted with this...Half of my face is definitely numb, thats why I look so silly :)

Just as a side note...For some strange reason, my account on XP is blocking me from viewing basically any website, and my dad can't figure out why, so I've been using the family account. Unfortunately, all of my pictures that I would otherwise make really exciting posts with are not currently accesible...BUT I happened to have the picture I used
