So last night I wasn't able to watch American Idol live because I was at a Rockies game (who definitely blew it in the last inning), so me and Daniel watched all the performances on youtube this morning. I'm bummed I didn't get to see it last night though, because I actually know all the songs sang! Here are my rankings for the night!
1. David Archuleta did very well with "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera. He did a really cool arrangement of it and definitely made it his own. Like Randy said, if you can sing, you can sing anything, and David has proved that time and time again. If he doesn't win, this competition is defintely rigged. lol. I think he'll be just as succesful as Daughtry and Carrie Underwood. I can't wait to see what he'll sing next week!
2. Syesha Mercado. When she first started the competition I wasn't the biggest fan, but I have definitely grown to really love her voice. Every week she seems to improve so much, and has amazing stage presence. Tonight she sang "One Rock n Roll too many", which i am really not too familar with. It was a nice change from the less upbeat ballady songs that most chose tonight (I'm not complaining about that though, those are my favorite!), and she really pulled it off. She has a lot of talent and I think she'll go pretty far after American Idol. And just a side note..I like what she did with her hair tonight. Very classy.
3. David Cook. Now, I'm really not the hugest fan of David, mainly because I think he looks like someone who has never showered and is drunk. ha ha. I don't really like his song choice for the most part, but he did sing "Music of the Night" pretty good tonight. It wasn't anything new though, and he sounded like hwas trying to sing it like the original. He kind of sounded like he was trying to sing British at the beginning of his performance and it different points in the song. I'll give him kudos though, it DID sound good, and he hit all those notes great. At least he showed that he could sing a ballad and do it well!! I hope he can find a happy medium between his really rocky songs and a ballad!!
4. Carly Smithson. Okay, I really really don't like her. I don't know what it is, but she just bugs me. I was pleased to see she was wearing an outfit that covered up her tatoos (maybe her husband could do the same, but then again, he would have to be full covered to get rid of all of them! haha). She sang "Jesus Christ Superstar", and I really didn't like the song choice, but she sang it well. Carly is real talented and will probably be pretty succesful, but she doesn't top my list of those I'm gonna wanna buy a CD from. I'm thinking she will be in the bottom three tonight.
5. Brooke White. As much as I just absolutely adore Brooke, she seems to be slipping pretty fast. She started this competition, in my opinon, with a lot of potential to win, but she seems to get worse, not better, as the weeks go on. Last night she sang "You Must Love Me" from the movie Evita. She messed up at the beginning and restarted, and acted rather professional about it. Her song didn't wow me though. Her songs just continually sound the same each week and doesn't have anything new to show. She does have a very nice voice though. As sad as it makes me, I think her time on Idol is coming to an end. She'll be a great Primary Chorister someday!!
6. Jason Castro. Alright, I think I'll have to agree with Randy when he said that he can sing Jack Johnson on a guitar, but not this type of music. He sang "Memory" from cats. It was just kind of a weird performance. He was really breathy and didn't show much off. He can sing a certain type of song, and this was not one of them.
SO here are my predictions
Top 3: David ARchuleta, David Cook, Syesha Mercado
Bottom 3: Carly Smithson, Jason Castro, and Brooke White
Carly will be sent back to safety first, and then Brooke White will be sent home.
OH and the concert dates have been set. I'm pretty sad to see that it wont be in Denver :(

Thanks for the recap, Katie! We'll see how well you called them tonight! I think you'll be pretty close, although I hope Carly goes home instead of Brooke.
Please do this every week! I loved it. By the way, I missed both Tuesday and Wednesday's IDOL, but was not concerned because they were taped and I could watch them commercial free, without having to wait a day to get the results. Then, when we were driving home from Salt Lake early Thurdsay morning, the radio announced who had been sent home!
