Sunday was my first day in my new student ward. Let me just say this..SO much better than the Singles Ward back home...for one thing, almost everyone there is my age! There was such a wonderful spirit in all of my meetings. I am thrilled to say that I no longer have 8:30 church like I did back home, but 10:30...I'd say it's a pretty perfect time :-D We had a testimony meeting, and its crazy how many people went up! It went like 20 minutes over. I even stood up to bear my testimony. That was nice. I LOVED my sunday school class. We had two teachers, and they were both excellent. One of them talked more than the other, and he is just a natural born teacher! I learned so much and i never even got bored! lol. Relief Society was nice too, the RS specialist for our ward talked, and told some wonderful stories. Honestly, I'm so excited to be a visiting teacher!! :-)
After Church I came home and packed to go to Salt Lake for the night to see Cindy and AJ. All of my roommates but Andrea were actually either in Murray or Sandy for the night as well, which was kind of funny. Anyways, me and Daniel drove up to Salt Lake and went over the Cindy's for awhile and just visited, and then we headed over to AJ's parents house for Sunday dinner..it was SOO yummy! I couldn't get enough of the delicious rolls they had! After dinner we all sat around and talked for awhile. AJ's parents and siblings are all so nice, and I'm grateful that they are so kind and always willing to invite us into their home! After dinner, we went back to Cindy and AJ's place...Now, for the exciting part of this post, the pictures!! (well..after i explain them..haha)
It was raining. a lot. and there was a ton of lightning and thunder..it was SO cool! I discovered that I'm not so strange for loving rainy weather...so does Daniel, Cindy, and AJ! lol. We decided to head outside and watch the storm....I think we had a little bit too much fun jumping and playing in the rain!
Out of the four of us, Daniel and AJ were by far the best rain jumpers!
However Cindy did seem to be quite the gymnast in her jumps...maybe she should be in the olympics..2012 anyone?!
This is by FAR my favorite picture, just because of how incredibly high AJ jumped..and how not high Cindy jumped (no offense Cindy, i think you jumped higher than I did!)
Daniel and AJ actually ventured out into the rain..aren't they so graceful?!
Well, here's me and Cindy's jumping picture...lol I barely even got any air shown in this picture, but Cindy once agan shows off her great skills!
After the excursion outside, we came in to warm up, and what better way to do that than with nice popsicles and chocolate bars! I passed on the mango popsicle, but I couldn't resist when AJ offered me one of Cindy's chocolate mint bars! It was yummy :-D We ended up watching a movie, which was pretty funny, and I learned of Cindy and AJ's rule...when watching a movie or TV, we can throw our popsicle sticks on the ground, just so we don't have to miss any of the movie! Great rule right?! After the movie we all went to bed..The guest bed is so comfortable..best night of sleep i've ever had!
The next day, Labor Day, we went up to the mountains for a delicious breakfast with AJ's family, including aunts, uncles, and some cousins! The food was wonderful! It was pretty cold out, and near the end it started raining, and even hailed for a little bit, but it was still SO much fun!! It was really pretty up there too, especially when it rained.
Unfortunatey, I don't have any pictures for the remainder of this post, so if your only in this for the pictures, you are free to leave..However if you want to hear the rest of my exciting adventures to the day...Keep on reading!
Me and Daniel got back into Provo around noon, and I went to meet some of my very favorite people from back home for lunch, Cortney and Rachael! We went to the Cougar eat and got some yummy food, and then went to the creamery on 9th and bought some random foods! Then we came back to my apartment and hung around there for awhile. After that Daniel took me over to Smiths to get eggs, because the creamery was out!! When i came back me and my roommates discovered that we had about 6 cartons of milk in the fridge, and made the decision we could probably get away with sharing them :-) Hmm...what happened next. Oh yeah, me and Andrea got a really big craving for creamery ice cream, so we ran over there, only to discover the line was almost out the door!! Then we had the brilliant idea that we should just buy a half gallon of creamery chocolate ice cream, and some fudge and caramel! Yummy! It wasreally delicious. I then had my bishops interview, which went well. My bishop is so nice! I found out that he dated Sister LeDuc, my stake president in Littleton's ward. Small ward! After that was.....time for family home evening! My ward just had a huge on with games and pizza, but it was pretty fun. It was kind of cold outside, and my roommate, Andrea, growing up in California and not really being used to the cold, wanted to go back to our apartment, so i went with her (don't worry mom-the activity was almost over!!) and hung out there. Two of my roommates parents sent a trifle and a pie down for all of us, so we had a party and invited some people over! I met somereally fun people, like my friend's roommate Steve! Me nd cortney decided to have a dinner the next day (read the post tomorrow for more details..haha), and he volunteered to make the french toast! The rest of the night was fun and Igot to know a lot of people :) I love BYU!
Coming soon...
