California...Day 1!

As a lot of you might know, this last week my Mom, Dad, and Michael went on a week long trip to Anaheim, California....and it was SO fun. We spent four days at the Disneyland/California Adventure Park, and one day at the beach. I haven't been to California since I was four, so it was definitely a very fun trip. I'm definitely planning on blogging about all of this trip, but considering the fact I took around 1100 pictures...haha...I don't think I'll have enough patience to do just one blog (No, I'm not planning on posting all 1100 pictures!). I probably could, but there have been some people who have been asking to see pictures and a blog...So I figure I'll do one or two days of the trip a day...It'll be kinda like a series..exciting I know! Anyways, in the mean time, I'll be posting a lot of the pictures on my facebook, so if your my friend there, feel free to browse those pictures if you feel like it! (I should be putting those up today or tomorrow). But without further adieu....Here's day one!

So the journey begins at about 8 o'clock. We were planning on leaving at 9 oclock for the airport, and to much surprise..we actually did! Of course, we couldn't leave town without my dad going to the post office, so we stopped there for like 10 minutes..and then we were on our way.

Here are Michael and me on the way to the airport. We are totally excited!!

So I just kind of thought this was kind of a cool picture out our window of the airplane..There were lots of clouds throughout the whole trip (well until we got to California..there wasn't one cloud there the whole time!). It was real pretty!

So although Frontier airlines doesn't even give you a measly bag of peanuts (even though we had a flight right during lunch!), it was a fairly nice flight. The seats were real roomy, and they have this cool little tv's in front of you. Granted, you have to pay to watch anything good, but the screens had these cool maps telling you where you were during the flight! How cool is that! Yeah, I'm sure I'm a huge nerd for being entertained by that..but hey...2 hours on a plane is a long time in my mind.

Here is my Mom and Dad on the plane! I just thought this was a nice picture of them, so I figured I'd include it :-D

Very relieved to be off the plane (I really don't enjoy flying..it scares me, though I do like the fact that its a whole lot faster than driving!) , me and michael were so excited to finally get to califonia!

Here's a statue of the namesake for the airport we flew into...John Wayne! Who could resist this photo op? I know I sure couldn't! It's kind of weird, this airport went by three different names..John Wayne Airport, Orange Country Airport, and Santa Ana Airport..You'd think they could just pick one name!

Michael kept complaining about how his ears were all plugged up from the flight..so here's my mom "popping" his ears for him..haha

While waiting for Dad to get the information for the rental car....what would be a better thing to do than take pictures?!

Everyones favorite search engine!!!

Since we got there later in the day, we decided to just pick up our tickets for disneyland, and then head off to dinner. We decided to go to Mrs. Knott's Famous Chicken Dinner Restaurant, which is inside of Knotts Berry Farm. The food was delicious, and the service was great! I don't think my water glass was ever empty! However, the portions are HUGE! I think my whole family could have shared one of the "regular" meals....I couldn't even finish the light diner's meal. The food was great though.. In the regular meal, you got a salad, soup, four pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and boysenberry pie! The lighter meal had less, but boy..was it good! They also brought out tons of really delicious biscuits that you could spread Knott's jelly on it, which my family definitely got full off of. If you're ever in the area, you have to check out this restaurant!

Who doesn't love a giant chicken?!

So I guess thaat one of the big themes at Knott's Berry Farm is characters from the Charlie Brown comics...Right across from the restaurant, there was a shop called Snoopy Headquarters! It was pretty cool! We spent about 20 minutes in there after dinner

Michael and Dad in front of some baseball memorabilia shop.

So to end my blog about our first day, I thought it would be fitting to put the last picture I took of the day here...it just happened to be a picture of our rental car :-D

So there's our first day at California...Aren't you glad I'm splitting these blogs into smaller sections? I mean...our first day at California started at around 2 or 3 and look how long this how..Imagine how long a full day will be! I know, I'm excited too.
